Volunteer: Adoption Folder & Goodie Bag Assembly

This is a beginner level office support role great for newer volunteers looking to help with admin tasks. These volunteers print all the standard documents and put them together into adoption folders in preparation for our cafe cats finding their forever families. They also put together goodie bags to go home with  adopted cats.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Printing various documents needed for adoption packets for both kittens and adult cats from OneDrive folder.Arranging all documents in standard order and placing in appropriate side of folderAssembling goodie bags for both kittens and adult cats with standard items such as toys, food sample, etc.

Please note you may be asked to complete other duties (such as dishes, organizing, and other simple tasks) if we have enough goody bags and supplies for the time being.

This opportunity includes the use of office equipment including Microsoft computer, copier/printer/scanner.
Experience with cats and an understanding of cat behavior is preferred. Beverages and a snack are available during the shift.
The dress code is jeans and closed-toe shoes.

The assistant & desk attendant is responsible for serving guests and felines with respect and kindness. You will be working directly with the public and our cats. Your knowledge, patience, and enthusiasm for working with cats will ensure we provide a nurturing and fulfilling environment for the cats while providing a fun and relaxing time for our guests.

These volunteers monitor the front desk area and assist in the cat café, with duties including but not limited to:

Assist in preparing the cafe before it opens to the public. Answering phones and taking messages. Greeting and assisting visitors. Accepting deliveries. Filing, printing, other misc duties as needed. Aid in cat care including feeding and cleaning. Take care of the cats' physical and mental needs through observation and interaction. Facilitate appropriate and fun interaction between guests and cats. Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the café.

The cafe gets regular cleanings daily, but what about what lies underneath? The windows get dirty and the carpets get full of cat hair. On Wednesdays, you will get together weekly and deeply clean the café and other rooms. We have daily cleaning, so when you come in, the litter boxes will be done and the place will seem clean, but there’s a lot beyond what our great volunteers do on the daily. That being said, this doesn’t necessarily have much to do with the furry friends, but you are always welcome to hang out with them, as long as you get some cleaning done of course! ;)

Responsibilities include: 

Sweeping & vacuuming the floorsMopping the floorsCleaning windowsWashing tables and other surfaces Cleaning up after cats Ensuring the café is clean and safe for cats and guests
