CAT CARE CREW
These volunteers clean the café and take care of the resident cats in the café by scooping litter, cleaning the café, refilling food and water bowls. Volunteers will also take note of any unusual behavior/concerns with café cats and report to staff. New volunteers will complete a training shift (“shadow shift”) to learn the duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scooping litter boxes (and changing out when needed)
- Clean & refill food bowls Clean & refill water bowls
- Wiping down surfaces
- Cleaning bathroom (in café)
- Vacuuming/sweeping floors
- Stocking supplies
- Checking welfare of cats in café
- Setting up for drinks/snacks for café (Thursday-Sunday) Experience with cats and an understanding of cat behavior is preferred.
Beverages and a snack are available during the shift. Volunteers may spend time with the cats after their shift (provided the café is not at capacity).
Once you have completed your training shift, you will be able to sign up for any of the Cat Care Crew opportunities.
The dress code is jeans and closed-toe shoes.
You may be exposed to scratches, bites, cat waste, unpleasant odors, and zoonotic disease.
